The hero dog award goes to a CAT!
Usually cats are not the ones we consider a man’s best friend, however one hero cat has proved it wrong by saving a four year old child from an attacking dog.
The cat body-slammed Scrappy, an out-of-control Labrador-Chow mix that lived next door, when the dog got out of his yard, ran for Jeremy Triantafilo, grabbed his leg and started shaking the boy from side-to-side.
The boy Jeremy, who is autistic had to have eight stitches, however he doesn’t seem to be very upset by it and calls Scrappy, the dog who attacked him, a bad boy.

'It's pretty amazing to see just a cat take on a dog and selflessly put herself out there,' the father said at the time. 'That dog did not even know what hit him.'
Scrappy the dog was later euthanized.
Jeremy said, Tara, who followed his parents home from a park seven years ago, 'is my hero.'
'We were so impressed by Tara's bravery and fast action that the selection committee decided that a cat this spectacular should be the National Hero Dog,' said Madeline Bernstein, president of the SPCALA.
