VIDEO OF THE DAY: Their last days: People who are terminally ill inspire us to live like it was our last day

These stories have to be heard. The perspectives of these people must remind us about what matters the most. Time is a limited resource. But happiness isn't.

"Dying doesn't need to be a bad thing, it is in fact it is a necessary thing." - Chris

"The decision to be positive is not one that disregards or belittles the sadness that exists. It is, rather, a conscious choice to focus on the good and to cultivate happiness - genuine happiness.  Happiness is not a limited resource, and when we devote our energy and time to trivial matters and choose to stress over things that ultimately are insignificant... from that point, we perpetuate our own sadness, and we lose sight of the things that really make us happy, and we rationalize our way out of doing amazing things."

Christopher Aiff. "My Last Days"

"Christopher Aiff was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his leg. The doctors told him he was cured, but then found 50 tumors in his lungs on his first check up. Chris Aiff passed away in May 2014."

At the time his story was being filmed, Chris was only 21 years old, battling terminal cancer.

The wisdom beyond his years and infectious positivity was what actually inspired us to create this post and we are very grateful we came across this amazing series called "My Last Days". On the IMDb page for the series, it reads: "My Last Days is an uplifting documentary series about life, as told by courageous people living with a terminal illness." It really is all that and more. We couldn't recommend more to watch all of the episodes. Trust us, your perspective on things will change for good.

"Life is what you make of it." - Shane

"Shane Burcaw , then 20 years old, was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. He's been in a wheelchair since the age of 2".

Shane's humorous approach to his disability and life is contagious, trust us. Watching his story, you will laugh, you might shed a tear and you will smile. A lot. His story shows how family and friends' support and taking everything and everyday with humor can help overcome ANYTHING life throws at us. After all, as Shane's dad said, "Dwelling on shit is letting it beat you. There's just no time for that."
